Steve Carlton was just good enough in a fantastic start that carried the Cardinals to their second straight win.  He improved to 4-1 on the season and he gave up just one run on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts in the complete game.

Lou Brock was the offense for the Cardinals and he drove in both runs with a two run shot.  Orlando Cepeda was the only Cardinal hitter with two hits.
