Cardinals 7, Pirates 4 (34-21)
For the second straight game, the Cards beat the Pirates 7-4 to take the rubber game in their three game series. Tim McCarver had the big hit of the game with a first inning grand slam that gave the Cards the lead for good. Orlando Cepeda got it done at the plate as well and he went two for three with a double, two RBIs and a run.
Bob Gibson improved to 8-5 with the win. He gave up four runs on eleven hits and one walk with seven strikeouts in a complete game.
