Vic Keen Holds Phillies to Five Hits in Cardinals Win

by @ 6:57 am. Filed under 1926 Cardinals, 1926 Cardinals Diary - May

May 20, 1926 at Sportsman’s Park
Cardinals 4, Phillies 1  (16-18)

The Cardinals evened their series up with the Phillies behind some strong pitching and a Les Bell homerun.  Bell’s two run shot in the bottom of the second gave the Cardinals all the runs they needed.  Heinie Mueller had a hit, a stolen base and two runs in the game.

Vic Keen was very solid and yielded only a single run on five hits.  He struck out four and didn’t walk a single batter.
