Jason Isringhausen was put on the 15-day DL after admitting to an injury he suffered several days ago when he punched a TV screen in Milwaukee. Taking his place on the roster was closer of the future Chris Perez, who provided the home fans with their only reason to cheer in the Cards’ 3-1 loss to Tampa Bay Friday night. Perez allowed only 1 baserunner in his inning of work (BJ Upton reached on an error by Albert Pujols) and hit 100mph on the radar. Saturday the Cards looked like they were in ther drivers seat with an 8-4 lead late in the game, but the bullpen struggled as Randy Flores gave up 3 runs and Kyle McClellan blew the save to send the game into extra frames. Ryan Ludwick continued to absolutely tear it up offensively, hitting his 2nd home run of the night in the 10th inning, sending the fans home happy. The Cards will try to build off this momentum today at 1:15pm (Central time) as Kyle Lohse (3-2, 4.91 ERA) faces …Rays’ righty Edwin Jackson (2-3, 3.47 ERA).
